Uganda police say they have arrested a number of suspects over a recent spate of killings of women near the capital, Kampala. The Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura, said that a suspect had confessed to killing eight women on the orders of businessmen. The murders were for ritual sacrifices, Gen Kayihura told residents of Nansana municipality. Local media say 17 women have been killed in a gruesome manner since May. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has moved to dissolve non-money generating government Departments and Agencies. The three paged letter was directed to ministry of Finance, Public Service, Ministry for presidency, National planning authority and secretary to the Cabinet. The International Criminal Division of High Court has sentenced Sheikh Yunus Kamoga, who was convicted for terrorism together with 5 other suspects to life imprisonment. The three justices of the International Criminal Division of High Court including Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Percy Tuhaise and Jane Kiggundu delivered their judgment this afternoon. Emirates, voted the world’s best airline in TripAdvisor’s 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards, has appointed Mr. Puneet Kohli as the new Country Manager for Uganda.
