South Sudan’s court martial on Thursday demanded the names and presence of the five foreign aid workers who were allegedly raped to come to the court. South Sudan government on Thursday admitted its failure since three months to pay salaries of its civil servants including diplomats abroad. Speaking to reporters after a workshop with international partners on Thursday, Finance Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau said civil servants have not been paid for three months because of economic troubles stemming from the ongoing civil war. The Mayuge District Engineer, Fabian Wanjusi, has been arrested on the orders of the Local Government Accounts Committee for allegedly mismanaging and illegally spending monies meant for the road fund. Wanjusi, who was appearing before the Committee sitting at the Jinja District Headquarters on 05th July 2017, was accused of providing false information and illegally spending money to the tune of Shs1.2b without the authority of a properly constituted District Road Committee. The Kampala capital city authority council (KCCA) has this Morning moved to name Nakivubo Press Road after former mayor and Democratic Party president emeritus late Ssebaana John Kizito . Ssebaana who died early this morning of stroke at Nakasero Hospital was the 17th mayor of KCCA in 1999 and he is remembered for constructing Nakivubo channel.
