Legislators have opposed government’s proposal to tax Saccos and individuals engaged in agriculture. The proposals that also include a ban on importation of vehicles older than eight years are contained in tax bills for the financial year 2018/2019. Stanbic Bank has unveiled the 2018 regional winners of the Stanbic National Schools Championship after a debate competition which involved four schools in each region contesting for the regional title. Legislators have expressed disappointment over what they called “slavery and trafficking of Ugandans in the United Arab Emirates”.
