Four police officers accused of torturing Kamwenge Mayor Godfrey Byamukama were today granted bail by Buganda Road court. Two of the suspects were asked to deposit UGX2m and the other two UGX1m each depending on their ranks. They were also asked to deposit their national IDs or passports and restricted from accessing their offices.

President Uhuru Kenyatta held talks with four of the six leaders from the Group of Industrialised Countries who attended the G7 meeting in Italy over the weekend, State House reported today. The road for Uganda Cranes to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, otherwise code named ‘Project Cameroon 2019’ continues with the residential training programme on Tuesday. This follows the national team successful return from Fort Portal where they played a build up in the famous ‘Uganda Cranes regional tours campaign’ against Kitara select at the Buhinga stadium before a fully packed house. Following the declaration of interest to take over the party’s top most job by Besigye’s close ally Moses Byamugisha in the next elections, friction has started bouncing in Uganda’s leading opposition party. Ssemwanga’s uncle Herbert Luyinda has eaten his words during the requiem mass at Namirembe Cathedral when he apologized for dividing the deceased’s family. The apology follows Last week’s event when Luyinda told journalists that Ssemwanga’s children will be taken for DNA tests to prove they belonged to him. The deceased’s uncle also claimed Zari doesn’t have any shares on Ivan’s property accusing her of leaving their marital home and got married to another man.
