Yesterday, 27 May, 2020, 28 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The total confirmed cases are now 281. According to Ministry of health, 21 new cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu while 7 new cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers.The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test. 🔹Additionally, 7 positive foreign truck drivers (4 Tanzanians, 1 Eritrean, 1 Congolese and 1 Burundian) were handed over to their country of origin 🔸Total Recoveries: 69 🔹Samples from Points of Entry tested today: 1,456 🔸Samples from community and contacts: 548 🔹Total samples tested today: 2,004
Legislators have tasked the Ministry of Works and Transport to present a detailed report to Parliament on the collapse of buildings around the city within a week. This followed presentation of a ministerial statement by the Minister of State for Transport, Hon Joy Kabatsi on the action taken by the ministry to enforce adherence to building standards and regulations. Kampala, Uganda: The UK Government announces its support to the Government of Uganda’s efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease and to respond to the impacts of SARS-COV-2 coronavirus.
