Investors seeking to enjoy tax incentives will have to meet tighter requirements, MPs have resolved. Pearl Dairy Farm Limited the producers of Lato Milk, has donated UGX 345 million to the people of Uganda following the government call to the private sector to contribute to efforts against the COVID 19 pandemic. The ministry of Health says three of the 53 Covid19 patients are showing good signs. Three cases have tested NEGATIVE twice and could be discharged soon. These would be Uganda’s first recovered persons of the 53 confirmed cases. Over 300 tested on Thursday were all negative. National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and MTN Uganda have joined hands to provide 100 public water points to supply water to water stressed areas of Kampala during the Coronavirus (COVID19) outbreak. The areas to benefit include water stressed areas at the periphery of the network which currently receive intermittent supply or no water at all. As the Ministry of Health grapples to contain COVID19, Stanbic Bank has joined a cross section of the private sector in contributing towards the efforts to combat the pandemic with a UGX 100m donation. The Parliament Appointments Committee yesterday interacted with nine presidential nominees to consider their suitability for jobs in the sectors of criminal justice, banking, leadership and governance. Chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, the nominees appeared before the committee on Monday, 6 April 2020.
