Centenary Bank Uganda has this morning signed a Loan Portfolio Guarantee agreement with the African Guarantee Fund to fund SMEs in Uganda with credit worth USD 10 Million. The 10th East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games which have been taking place in Kampala ended with a cultural dinner in honour of all the participating delegates on the 18 December 2019. The Mityana Municipality MP, Francis Zaake, has defended himself against allegations of threatening Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, arguing that the ongoing investigations are aimed at diverting the public’s attention from what happened during the strike at the university. First Lady Janet and together with the president of Uganda hosted 400 sportspeople, officials and teachers to a luncheon and later dinner at State House Entebbe, as we celebrated what has been a great sporting year for Uganda. Briefly, Uganda was ranked 9th best in the World Athletics Championship, 3rd in Africa Athletics, 6th in World Netball, qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cairo and emerged winner in the East Africa Schools Championships in Arusha and the Interforces Games in Nairobi.
