The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities is engaging in activities to implement the Uganda Wildlife Act 2019. This was revealed by the Minister Hon. Tom Butime who said that the Ministry is currently working on implementing clauses 83 and 84of the act. The two  provide for the creation of a Wildlife Compensation Committee and compensation respectively. As Parliament concludes investigations into alleged illegal eviction of artisanal miners in the country,  residents of  Kitumbi sub-county in Kasanda district want Parliament to come to their aid on what they termed as ‘misplaced eviction’. Parliament has legalised the use of technology in the management of general elections. The move is in accordance with a recommendation of the Supreme Court in the presidential election petition of Amama Mbabazi Vs Y. K. Museveni, Electoral Commission and others. In the ruling, judges observed that in the absence of clear legislative provisions prohibiting adoption of technology management in elections, the Court could not prevent the Electoral Commission (EC) from using technology to improve its efficiency.
