The State Minister for Internal Affairs, Mario Obiga Kania, has lamented that forensics scientists are leaving the country due to a high global demand for their skills. Obiga Kania was meeting MPs on Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on Thursday, 31 October 2019 who had invited him as the political head overseeing the Directorate of Government Analytical Laboratories. Journalists under their umbrella body, Uganda Journalist Association (UJA) have today announced an immediate total blackout on all police activities following a sustained attack on journalists covering Makerere University students strike over a 15 per cent tuition increment. Kampala, Uganda: The British High Commission, in partnership with African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), has organised a two-day training for journalists around the theme of Media Rights and Responsibilities. Opposition figure Kizza Besigye has lashed out at first lady and education minister Janet Kataaha Museveni for accusing Makerere University students of corruption.
