The ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] has retained Nebbi LCV seat in the by-election conducted Thursday, according to results available at the Party tally centre. The official results will soon be released by the National Independent EC. NRM has won in 15 out of the 16 Sub Counties. Emmanuel Urombi (NRM) polled 22,280 votes defeating his opponents Vicky Onyai (FDC) 4,022 votes and George Othuba (Independent) who got 18,323 votes. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, has tasked the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development to respond to concerns raised by MPs on torture meted on Ugandans working abroad. Buganda Road Magistrates Court has finally released renowned City music promoter Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo Events on bail. Students in selected government schools in Busoga and Western Uganda are set to improve their knowledge in science and technology following a donation of computers from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). A co-owner of Kololo based Hickory Bar and Restaurant Ainebyona Arnold Mugisha has been shot dead by a security guard.
