Ministry of Internal Affairs has resumed the normal operations in the issuance of passports to the public According to the press statement issued today 21st August 2017 by the directorate of citizenship and immigration control, normal operations have resumed. They ministry is optimistic that clearing of the backlog caused by the shortage of passport booklets will take only two weeks. The proven emergency passport applications will also continue to be issued depending on the urgency of the cases. South Africa’s former head of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has waded into the row over Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe’s alleged assault of a South African woman, SABC reports. Liverpool have rejected a third bid from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, according to Sky sources. Sky Sports News understands the latest offer was worth an initial £113m and the fee could have risen to £118m based on the Brazil international’s potential appearances at the Nou Camp. East African leaders are discussing the possibility of facilitating an end to Riek Machar’s forced confinement in South Africa, a top Sudanese diplomat said. South Sudan’s former First Vice President is being held in South Africa to prevent him from going back to South Sudan. Jennifer Semakula Musisi, the Executive Director Kampala Capital City Authority- KCCA has penned a letter implicating the political wing led by the Lord Mayor, Division Mayors and councilors for inciting vendors to attack KCCA law enforcement officers. In her August 11th, 2017 letter, Musisi claims that politicians at different levels have been influential in inciting the community to rise against and oppose enforcement operations in their divisions. Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago through his deputy Sarah Kanyike has written to the deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana, seeking for an update on his demand for Shs 560m in salary arrears.
