The business community in Kiyindi, Buikwe district have donated three acres of land to Uganda Police Force to construct a new Police Station in the area. This was revealed during a meeting between the Regional Police Commander, Ssezibwa SSP Suzan Nalwoga and the business community on April 13, 2018. While addressing the meeting also attended by Regional Human Resources Officer, ASP Sebalu and Regional Community Liaison Officer Zania Dhamusange, the RPC commended residents for the donation. This happened on Monday evening as Maseco edged its longtime rival Blessed Sacrament Kimaanya at Masaka recreation grounds. The matched ended 1:0 amidst titanic crowds that had gathered to witness the highly anticipated district derby. Veteran Journalist Andrew Mwenda has decried the manner in which the Head of State Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is running the country. Speaking while appearing on the KFM Hot-seat on Friday evening, Mwenda accused president of running the state on speculations without researching. The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) officers under AMISOM on Sunday morning killed 30 Alshabab terrorists that attempted to attack AMISOM Forward Operating Bases at Quoroyole, Buulo Mareer and Golwen in Lower Shabelle Region of Somalia. According to the UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Richard Kalemeire, Eight of their vehicles that included two Vehicle Born Improvised Explosives were destroyed. He adds that the following equipment were captured from the terrorists: “4 PK Rifless ,2 Rocket Propelled Guns,2 Recoiless Guns,1 Walkie Talkie and 18 Sub Machine Gun Rifles. The UPDF lost 4 gallant soldiers and 6 sustained minor injuries.”
Holders KCCA FC booked a berth into the quarterfinals of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup edging past Soana FC in the round of 16 game played at Kavumba Recreation Centre on Wednesday. KCCA FC needed penalties to see off a resilient Soana FC after normal time had ended 2-2. Police at Kiira Road have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Daniel Kimuli, a resident of Nsooba with assault and child abuse. Kimuli who was on Tuesday captured on Video by URN severely beating his five-year-old son at Marto Nursery School in Kamwokya was detained after the video went viral. In the video that later went viral on social media, Kimuli was beating the child on the legs, the back and the head. Aviation police has arrested a Norwegian national for alleged possession of narcotic drugs The suspect identified as Arntzen Karin Elizabeth 53 Years was arrested at the baggage screening point. On searching, three polythene bags wrapped with a cellotape were recovered with suspected heroine weighing 3706 grams which has since been submitted to GAL Wandegeya for analysis. Arntzen Elizabeth was intending to travel to Brussels aboard Brussels Flight SN 3169. A case file AVPOL CRB 065/2018 has since opened and charged with unlawful possession of Narcotic drugs c/s 4(1) and 2(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act 2016.
Stanbic Bank Uganda has today handed over a dummy cheque worth UGX 15 million to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). The money will go towards sponsoring the NSSF Kampala Hash 7 Hills Run slated for Sunday 25th of March 2018.
