International Build Up: Kenya 1-1 Uganda Moses Waiswa scored on his debut as Uganda Cranes played to a one all draw with Kenya Harambee Stars during the international friendly match played at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos on Thursday. Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura has appointed AIGP Asan Kasingye, to take over the police Force’s Spokesperson position. AIGP Assan Kasingye, the Director of Interpol replaces late AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi who was shot dead by unknown gunmen last week along with his two body guards. Kasingye will also serve as the police force’s Chief Political Commissar. In a communication to all police units, the Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura also appointed AIGP Fred Yiga to replace Kasingye as the Director of Interpol and International Relations.
Samuel Mugarura, commonly known as Falcao the Makerere University student who invented teargas last year has secured a utility certificate from Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB). The utility certificate was handed over to Mugarura at the URSB headquarters on Wednesday afternoon by the URSB Director for Intellectual Property Mary Kainobwisho and added that the utility certificate means that Mugarura has patented his innovation. The certificate was issued in accordance with Uganda Industrial Property Act, 2014, section 32(1) that says a utility certificate that guarantees patent of the invention can be granted and issued to the applicant by the registrar.
