Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has dragged Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi and Kampala Minister Beti Kamya to court in an attempt to recover salary arrears amounting to 563 million Shillings. In an application dated March 14, filed at the High Court Civil Division in Kampala, Lukwago is seeking an order to compel Musisi and Kamya, to release his salary covering the period December 2013 to May 2016. Human Rights Network for Journalist-HRNJ has vowed to stand by Journalist  Andrew Lwanga, to appeal the sentence handed to former Old Kampala Divisional Police Commander, Joram Mwesigye. On Friday, Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu found Mwesigye guilty of assaulting Lwanga. An Episcopal priest was found dead on the outskirts of Yei town along the Juba-Mukaya road in Yei River State on Friday, a religious leader said. Rev. At least five Misseriya herders were killed in an attack by an armed group near Al Meiram town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State last Friday, according to eyewitnesses. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, several eyewitnesses said the five herders were attacked in Girinti area, some 20 Kilometers from Meiram town, while accusing South Sudan’s army of involvement in the attack. The Nigerian and South African governments are to launch an “early warning” system to help track and deter xenophobic attacks against Nigerian migrants. The announcement was made at a news conference in Pretoria, after a meeting between the South African foreign minister and her Nigerian counterpart. The SPLA-IO faction loyal to former First Vice President Riek Machar claimed that they repulsed a government attack on their positions in the western part of Leer town on Friday.
