FUFA match assessor refresher course has ended at the FUFA Technical center Njeru on Wednesday. Fifty-nine participants (3 for Beach Soccer) took part in the three-day workshop that was organized by CAF and FUFA since Monday 18th March. Selected legislators have urged President Yoweri Museveni to reconsider his decision and assent to the Sugar Bill, 2016. In his recent address to NRM MPs attending a retreat at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi, President Museveni said he will return the Bill to Parliament for reconsideration. He said that legislators did not consider the interests of the big sugar manufacturers and accused them of having suspicious relationships with the small industries. The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has endorsed a proposal for the review of Uganda’s procurement laws so as to ensure that 30 percent of all government contracts are reserved for women. Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has closed down Halal & Twayibah Foods & Beverages factory in Old Kampala over failure to comply with set standards for production of beverages thus putting the health of consumers at a great risk. The UNBS Surveillance team together with Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) officials conducted inspection of the factory. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday 15 March implored Ugandans not to allow anyone destabilize Uganda’s peace. Museveni made this comment while passing out of 6,239 Local Defence Unit (LDU) trainees at Kaweweta Military Training School.
