The NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba on Friday officiated at the pass out ceremony of 822 students who had undergone a one week’s patriotism training at Nakalama Secondary School in Iganga District. The Secretary General commended the students for demonstrating high levels of discipline and persevering through the course till its successful completion. She thanked the school administration and the district Patriotism Secretariat leadership for undertaking the training. The Chief Executive Officer of the National Gaming and Lotteries Board, Edgar Agaba has been arrested. According police, Agaba was picked by CID officers on Wednesday afternoon over misappropriation of Shs950m. On June 5, senior officials of Gaming Regulatory Board also appeared before CID at the behest of Anti-Corruption Unit – State House led by Lt Col Edith Nakalema. The UK government has over the weekend pledged further support to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to help save millions of lives around the world. Since 2002, The Global Fund has helped save more than 27 million lives and reduced deaths from these three killer infectious diseases by more than a third in the countries which it invests in. President Yoweri Museveni yesterday warmly received Sierra Leone President, Mr. Julius Maada Bio at State House, Entebbe. The Sierra Leone leader arrived is in Uganda on a three-day state visit at the invitation of his host President Museveni. Senior presidential advisor Tamale Mirundi has condemned the Judiciary for continued mockery of Justice. Speaking while appearing on NBS television early this morning, Tamale said that it was unfair for slapping Pine Car Bond Proprietor Muhammad Ssebuufu with such a huge sentence. Tamale added that the judiciary has on several occasions become segregative as far as awarding justice is concerned citing an example of former Kampala DPC Aaron Baguma who was acquitted even before the cases was climaxed.
