The Uganda Police force has today confirmed the arrest of a group of journalists. Among the arrested is Godfrey Badebye, Shafiq Kisame and Rashid Kaweesa, all working for BBC together with the Ministry of Health official Vivian Sserwanja who doubles as a wife to famous NBS TV Journalist. Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir has ridiculed his opponents’ use of social media to organise recent protests against his rule. “Changing the government or presidents cannot be done through WhatsApp or Facebook. Following the recent introduction of new East African electronic passport, mounts of controversy have erupted from different stakeholders regarding its timing and legality.
