Kofi Annan, the former UN secretary-general, has died aged 80. The Ghanaian national was the first black African to be appointed as the world’s top diplomat and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his humanitarian work during his eight years in the role. He died in hospital in Bern, Switzerland, in the early hours of Saturday morning. His death was announced by his family and the Kofi Annan Foundation, which said he had “passed away peacefully” following a short illness. Embattled General Kale Kayihura is now in more agony and loneliness after security withdrew the remaining privileges he has been enjoying in his cell. The former Inspector General of Police (IGP) has been under key and lock at Makindye Military Barracks where the likes of Bobi Wine and chairman of Boda Boda 2010 Abu Kittata are currently incarcerated. Uganda Revenue Authority has yesterday 14th August, 2018 handed over a recovered school van to the deputy headmaster of Namilyango Junior Boys School, Mr Mathew Ochieng. URA enforcement officers attached to Busitema customs station working with the police based at Seeta Police Station received intel on 12th August, 2018 about a stolen school van (Toyota Hiace) Reg No UAG251F belonging to Namilyango Junior Boys School.
