The Kampala Capital City Authority boss Jenipher Musisi has urged the property owners in Kampala to comply with the new law of paying the rent tax that was attached to their buildings by the authority. This followed the property owners vowing to close down their building on grounds that KCCA has increased the property taxi three times in the property evaluation exercise that was conducted by the evaluation court last month. A coalition of 40 organizations has appealed to the Ugandan government to facilitate independent and transparent investigations, and hold security forces accountable for the November 2016 clashes in Kasese district.
