A 16-year old boy has been killed by a Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officer attached to Butsumba army battalion in Rukoki, Kasese. According to observer, Nelson Kule, a P.7 pupil of St. Stephen’s primary school was reportedly gunned down on Friday night (10pm) by a guard.. The Police’s Flying Squad Unit is holding three men over alleged theft of motor vehicles. The suspects have been identified as Paul Lubega, Muhammad Lutaaya and Yahaya Mafabi, all residents of Nansana-Ganda. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the arrests. A total of 2,321 people have been arrested in Kampala on suspicion of involvement in crimes such as robbery, counterfeits and drug abuse and distribution in the last six weeks. The operation in which several suspects were netted was commanded by Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander and Commissioner of Police Moses Kabugo Kafeero. CP. Kafeero, flanked by his deputy ACP. President Yoweri Museveni has asked URA to refund all Ugandans who paid 1% percent mobile money tax. In a statement issued on Facebook, Museveni insists that the 1 per cent tax which he ordered to be reduced to 0.5 percent last week was passed in error and he signed the bill knowing it had an error. “I signed the law with the error because we could not delay the other measures.
