The Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), Sylvia Muwembwa Ntambi, has noted great improvement in compliance with gender and equity related issues in ministries, departments and government agencies. Mwesigwa Rukutana, has told Parliament that Drake Lubega and Mansoor Matovu are in current possession of the Qualicel Building and Buganda Bus Park pending determination of a suit in court. President Yoweri Museveni has rejected the Sugar Bill 2016 and asked Parliament to reconsider and provide zoning of sugar cane growing and production. Museveni said that because of the absence of zoning, which gives way to the entry of other small scale players into the industry, the major sugar manufacturers have been undermined leading to a drop in their output.
