NTV Uganda come out to speak about the circulating information on social media and the entire public about the kidnapping of its Reporter Gatrude Tumusiime Uwitware. In a press release issued today, Uganda’s leading Television station confirmed that their reporter Gatrude Tumusiime Uwitware was yesterday kidnapped by unknown people, blindfolded and driven to unknown location where she was harassed and threatened. One of Uganda’s most credible Newspapers the Observer has received a donation of 12 central processing units (CPUs) from the European Union (EU). This donation follows the recent April 1 break-in, the second in less than six months. The computers were delivered Saturday by the EU ambassador/head of delegation to Uganda, Kristian Schmidt, who also paid a courtesy visit to assess the situation after the break-ins. At least 13 people have been killed in an explosion at a church in northern Egypt, state media say. The blast targeted St George’s Coptic church in the city of Tanta in the Nile Delta. A number of television channels said at least 40 people had been injured in the Palm Sunday attack. The cause of the explosion is not yet known but Egypt’s Christian minority has often been targeted by Islamist militants in recent years.
