President Museveni has been awarded the African Leadership Peace Award on the sidelines of the UK-Africa Investment Summit held in London, UK. Museveni who concluded his visit Wednesday morning, thanked the African Leadership Magazine “that gave me the African Leadership Peace Award Tuesday at the Royal Geographical Society in London”. Former presidential aspirant Dr. Kiiza Besigye has entered the fourth year still toping the position of being the world’s most arrested person. Besigye was first ranked by the Guinness Book of Records towards the end of 2016, but surprisingly four years later, the times are still increasing. On Monday 20/01/2020 marked 50 times he has been arrested in the history of Uganda. In 2016 alone he was arrested more than 15 times during the election period. The Uganda Women Parliamentary Association (UWOPA) and the Parliamentary Forum for Youth Affairs have endorsed a campaign by civil society organizations to curb sexual abuse. The campaign dubbed ‘My Body, My Consent’ pioneered by civil society activists is based on seeking justice for victims of sexual violence that includes among others rape and defilement. Uganda National Examinations Board [UNEB] has withheld results of about 1,512 candidates who sat Primary Leaving Examinations in 2019, pending investigations. UNEB Executive Secretary, Dan Odongo, revealed this Friday during the release of PLE results at Kampala Parents School in Naguru, Kampala. Odongo says the number is much lower than the 3,346 withheld in 2018 PLE.
