It is all systems go as Parliament asks for final details to aid the creation of 15 new cities across the country. The proposed cities are Arua, Mbarara, Gulu, Jinja, Fort Portal, Mbale, Masaka, Wakiso, Entebbe, Hoima, Lira, Moroto, Nakasongola, Soroti and Kabale. The Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah has called for the modification of the audit process of government programmes and projects to include accountability of their output. While meeting a delegation of MPs from Namibia, Oulanyah said that it is common for running government programmes and entities not to undergo any form of impact assessment. The Minister of State for Finance, Hon. David Bahati, has assured legislators that Uganda will not lose its properties in Kenya following the enactment of a new law limiting foreign ownership of property in the country.
