Uganda cranes players chop swag in Kigali ahead of tomorrow’s match

Total CHAN 2018 Championship Qualifiers (Return leg, Final Round):

Rwanda Amavubi Stars vs Uganda Cranes (Saturday, 19th August 2017)

Venue: Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyamirambo

Time: 4pm in Uganda (3pm, Rwanda)

The Uganda Cranes safely arrived in the Rwandese capital Kigali ahead of their Total CHAN 2018 final qualifying round return leg against the Amavubi stars.

Speaking to the local media in Kigali on arrival, interim coach Moses Basena promised the Rwandese good football on Saturday when the two teams take to the pitch for a berth to next year’s CHAN finals in Kenya.

‘We are happy to come to a country where the people are very enthusiastic about football.  We promise to give them good football. We may have a three goal advantage coming into this fixture but this game is 180 minutes and only half of that was played’ Basena commented.

‘We are keeping our feet on the ground coming into the return leg very much aware that the Amavubi Stars are going to be tough playing at home.  Rwanda is a strong physical side that is going to throw everything at us but we are set to put up a very spirited fight like we did in the first leg and God willing we will get a favorable result; added Basena

The Cranes are carrying a 3-nil goal advantage from last weekend’s fixture played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The coach has decided to allow the players rest and relax since the team had a morning training session at the Africa Bible Univeristy shortly before departing Kampala. The team will have its last training session in Kigali Regional stadium, Nyamirambo  tomorrow.
