Museveni offers 3 square mile industrial site to Egyptian investors

President Museveni

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to offer a 3 square mile industrial site to Egyptian investors something that has come as many Ugandans are still in tears over unlawful land evictions countrywide.

Museveni made this statement during the Thursday meeting with delegation of prospective Egyptian investors lead by the Egyptian Ambassador to Uganda, Mohamed Tarek Saliam at Statehouse Entebbe.

According to state House, this team is interested in establishing a new electricity distribution company and factory that manufactures wires, meters and transformers.

In this meeting, President Museveni welcomed their plans, but challenged them to make electricity cheap with the cost of a unit going for five cents for hotels and manufacturing enterprises and nine cents per unit for entertainment places like discos.

However the investors assured the Museveni that they would finance the project themselves and create more jobs for Ugandans.
