President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have been sharing details of what appears to have been an extremely cordial meeting earlier. Cholera outbreak in South Sudan has reached Malakal town, the United Nations said Friday, while the number of cases countrywide has reached 5,574. In a press briefing in New York on Friday, Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesman for the UN Secretary General, said cholera has been confirmed in 14 counties, with at least 137 deaths since June 2016. Those counties include the two Mayendit and Leer counties that recently were declared to be in the grip of famine. The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Winnie Kiiza has said that the Opposition should not be viewed as enemies of the ruling government, but as an organ with an advisory role. A South African man and his Ukrainian fiancee have been detained in the United Arab Emirates for unlawful sex, a relative says. Emlyn Culverwell‚ 29, and Iryna Nohai, 27, were reportedly arrested after a doctor discovered Ms Nohai, who had stomach cramps, was pregnant. They were arrested for sex outside of marriage, which is illegal in the UAE.
