MP Nambooze axed from DP party leadership

Betty Nambooze

The Democratic Party secretariat has on Thursday evening resolved to suspend Mukono Municipality legislator Betty Nambooze from the DP Buganda Vice Presidency position.

In a closed door meeting at Pope Paul Memorial Centre in Kampala, the motion was moved by the party youth vice chairman Paul Ssembajwe and seconded by youth Secretary General Ritah Nakyanzi.

30 NEC members attended the meeting and 22 voted to have Nambooze suspended, with only 1 vote that disagreed with the motion.

Namboze had been suspended for 3 months and a committee has been instituted to investigate her conduct.
