Namutumba Woman MP Mariam Naigaga, who is also a member of Busoga Parliamentary Caucus has revealed a shocking SMS that State minister for Lands, Persis Namuganza allegedly sent her.
MP Naigaga was on Wednesday appearing as a witness before parliamentary committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline that is currently investigating the feud between Namuganza, also Bukono County MP and Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga (Kamuli Woman MP).
While reading verbatim, Namuganza’s alleged SMS, Naigaga told the committee that the minister has insulted and degraded her in the SMS.
“You lumpen, know your levels that is why you go conning peoples’ monies, try to go back to Bukono and talk about me. If your HIV has made you mad then better get right medicine, because it seems you are taking a wrong type. Am told you even still with young men and you even slept with your uncle kisirani gwe.. With your broken English. This is the message I received from Hon Persis Princess Namuganza,” Naigaga read the message before MPs.
Naigaga also thanked security agencies in this country for swinging into action to oversee the security of minister Namuganza saying that her foul utterances could have earned her a thorough beating from peoples of Busoga sub region.
“I want to confirm to this committee that indeed Hon Persis Namuganza’s life is in danger. Not because of Right Honourable Speaker, not because of us, the leaders of Busoga, but because of the Basoga who belong to Busoga who pay respect to his Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga,” Naigaga said.
Namuganza has been involved in several fights with colleagues including ICT state minister Aidah Nantaba, LOP Winifred Kiiza among others.
