You Dare Lose Against Tanzania- Museveni Warns Uganda Cranes

President Yoweri Museveni has warned Uganda Cranes team not to lose their last fixture against Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

Despite securing a place in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Cameroon, Museveni has told the Uganda Crane team not to dare lose that game against Tanzania. It should be remembered that Museveni started his liberation struggle that ushered in the NRM government in 1986 in Tanzania with the help of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.

Museveni on Monday, a few selected Uganda Cranes team and staff as he congratulated them for securing a place in Afcon 2019 after beating Cape Verde on Saturday at Namboole Stadium.

He took to twitter and posted, “Even if the Cranes have already qualified, I know that they still have a game to play against Tanzania. Please make sure you don not lose that game. Congratulations once again.”

KCCA FC striker Henry Patrick Kaddu scored the lone strike as Uganda Cranes pipped visiting Cape Verde Blue Sharks 1-0 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Uganda will now be playing at AFCON for the 7th time after 1962, 1968, 1974, 1976, 1978 and lately 2017 editions.

Uganda joins the hosts (Cameroon), Egypt, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, Algeria, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Mauritania among the 14 countries ahead of the final round for the qualifiers next year.
