Kadaga makes U-turn, Endorses Miss Curvy Competition

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca kadaga has this afternoon made a U-turn and Okayed the highly contested Miss Curvy contest which she had earlier opposed.

Speaking during the meeting with the contest organizers at parliament, the event organizer Anne Mungoma stated that the pageant had been misunderstood at first with many saying it will promote sex tourism.

Mungooma added that the pageant only seeks to recognize plus size women who had lost confidence in society and It’s from this that Kadaga okayed the contest.

Kadaga noted that no one should discriminate against plus size women and as such allowed them to hold their Miss curvy contest.

Kadaga also promised to engage MPs for full support to the contest that is to be held on 26th April 2019.

“It’s is their right to hold and participate in the contest as long as it promotes a different aspect of the country.” Kadaga said.

According to organizers, over 200 women have already registered for the miss curvy pageant and the latest entrants were today paraded before journalists.
