Nabbanja Intervenes Nakivale Land Wrangles Between Refugees And Locals, Preaches Peace

Prime Minister of the republic of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja has continued to play a fundamental role in the mediation of rifts among nationals.

On Saturday 11 September 2021, the Kakumiro woman representative took the voice of peace to Isingiro district.

Nabbanja was together with Lands, Housing and Urban development Minister Hon Judith Nabakooba, State Minister for Agriculture Hon. Bright Rwamirama, area Members of Parliament and local leaders.

The delegation visited Nakivale Refugee Resettlement in Isingiro District to find ways of resolving land disputes between refugees & the host community.

She underlined the fact that the two communities should live in peace.

It should be noted that while land given to refugees often appeared to be empty and bushy, it often turned out that it had previously been used by local pastoralists to graze their cattle, leading to resentment amongst the pastoralist communities.
