East Africa A New Hub Of Gold Smugglers

According to the new research from our reporter, news coming in shows that east Africa is becoming a new conduit of gold smuggling, if nothing is done to cub this situation, it is stated that east Africa is on the verge of losing more than 100trilion dollars by the year 2030.

There is a group of gold smugglers led by Gen. Paul Kadima and joseph Kabila jr of DRC Congo who conned the poor miners of Buluma community mining north kivu DRC Congo and took close to one tone (700kg) of gold on promise to pay back miners in less than two weeks after selling the said smuggled gold in Uganda and ended up not paying the miners.

Crying foul, the miners complained to the UN-(ICGLR) International conference on the great lakes region-security officials to be helped to recover their stolen gold.

UN-security in conjunction with the DRC Congo security, have since then followed the stolen and smuggled gold from the poor miners.

The news coming in on our desk says that the alleged gold was smuggled through kasindi-mpondwe boarder to Uganda directly to Nairobi-Kenya and then back to Uganda in trying to get it to the world market and as we write this story, 500kgs of gold bars have been intercepted by the UN-(ICGLR) security officials in Kampala- Uganda trying to be airlifted to Dubai for sale and more 200kgs of gold nuggets have also been impounded at kasindi- mpondwe boarder trying to be smuggled into Uganda.

All the above 700kgs of gold intercepted by security has been confirmed to belong to the poor miners of Buluma community mining north kivu DRC Congo leaving them in agony. The criminals are still on the run and are yet to be brought to book.

It is alleged that the big shots in Ugandan gov’t are behind the smuggled gold and influencing the un-security officials to allow the intercepted gold to access the world market (Middle East).

Never the less, When asked on the way forward ,the un-security officials (ICGLR) revealed that, arrangements are being made by the security officials to have the intercepted gold (700kgs)taken back to Congo and be handed over to the buluma community miners who are the rightful owners of the said illicit gold.
We are still following up on the new developments of this story.
