Bonny Odongo, a Lira based Vision Group journalist has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of an illegal firearm. Odongo, a Sub Editor of Rupiny Newspaper, a sister publication to ‘The New Vision’ was picked by police flying squad last evening from Lira town and he is now held at Lira Central Police Station. The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) said about 400 United Kingdom troops arrived to serve as peacekeepers. “British troops, proudly wearing their distinctive blue UN berets arrived in Juba today to join the United Nations Mission in South Sudan,” UNMISS said in a statement that was released late on Tuesday. According to UNMISS, the UK contingent will provide a Military Engineering Taskforce to the Malakal and Bentiu Protection of Civilians Sites (POCs), as well as a Level II Hospital in Bentiu. SPLA-IO Chief of Staff Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual has described President Kiir’s call for a national dialogue to end the ongoing conflict as “bogus”.  Lagos, Nigeria (CNN) Consumers of Sprite and Fanta have more to worry about than rotting teeth according to a Lagos High Court judge, who ruled that the Coca-Cola products could be “poisonous.” The court held that high levels of benzoic acid and sunset additives in the popular soft drinks could pose a health risk to consumers when mixed with ascorbic acid, commonly known as vitamin C, according to local media. The registrar of the High Court at Kampala has today morning issued an order barring all journalists in the country from publishing anything concerning the gruesome death of the former AIGP Andrew Felix Kawesa. “An order is hereby issued against the Respondents and their agents from publishing any stories/information in as far as the murder of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi until the main application is heard and determined”, the order signed by the Registrar reads. The inspector of Police has moved Government to drag a section of media houses to the Courts of the Law seeking for an immediate ban from publishing anything concerning the death of the former AIG Andrew Felix Kawesa. These media houses include the Red Pepper and other online news sites; Chimpreports, the investigator, the Ugandan plus their editors in chiefs. Two senior SPLA army generals have been killed in renewed fighting with rebels near the government-held town of Wau on Sunday, causing mounting tension and fear of further violence in the area.
