The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, has presented documents to Parliament showing rightful ownership of Njeru Stock Farm. The farm, located in Njeru Municipality is also claimed by Government of Uganda. Reading from the documents, Otafiire said the land in question was purchased from the late Kato Fredrick Lukwajju and Christopher Lule, who were administrators of the estate of the late Enock Ssebowa and Gusta Sseruro respectively. Parliament has passed a motion, directing the Committee on Education and Sports to investigate the crisis at Makerere University and report back by 13 November 2019. The motion was moved by the education shadow minister, Mathias Mpuuga summarising MPs responses to the education minister’s statement on the Makerere fracas. The directive issued by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga requires the committee to carry out investigations guided by seven recommendations contained in the motion. Intern doctors under the Federation for Uganda Medical Interns (FUMI) have implored Parliament to help address a host of grievances affecting their work. As you are all aware on the 22/10/2019, police and sister security agencies intercepted 12 female students from the main Gate at Makerere University while rallying other students to join them and march to Parliament, in protest against the fees policy. Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah, has commended efforts made by Lalogi Health Centre IV to bring down the number of maternal deaths in Omoro district to zero in 2018.
