Breaking: Minister Kabafunzaki granted bail

The Anti-Corruption Court has on Wednesday granted bail to the State Minister for Labor, Employment and Industrial relations Herbert Kabafunzaki.

He was released on a cash bail of UGX. 5Million while his three sureties were put on a Shs. 50million non cash bond and besides the bail terms, the court retained the minister’s diplomatic passport and the certificate of his plot of land at Ndejje.

The sureties were Eliab Byamukama a lecturer at Kampala International University, one Charles Mutabaazi, as well as his wife Doreen Kabafunzaki.

Rukiga County Member of Parliament was arrested while receiving a UGX30m bribe from Aya Group Officials at Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday evening.

However the Minister refused to accept the corruption allegations sighting that whatever is happening around him is a set up by his enemies who were aiming at tarnishing his name.
