FDC’s Buwembo arrested over Cholera outbreak

Habib Buwembo addressing the media

Police in Nateete has this afternoon arrested Forum for Democratic Change party’s (FDC) Secretary for Labor Habib Buwembo.

Buwembo who was halted from his home in Rubaga Division (Nanfuka zone) was addressing the press on cholera and garbage collection in Kampala.

Before his arrest, Buwembo condemned the Kampala City Council Authority for unlawfully stealing poor Ugandans.

Buwembo noted that the decision of KCCA contracting private companies to take care of the collecting garbage in the city and subjecting residents to a pay as one of the causes of Cholera outbreak since some people in Kampala still find it hard to afford shs. 200 to buy a mere jerry cane of clean water.

This move contravenes with article 39 of the constitution of Uganda, which states that it’s a right to every citizen to live in a clean environment.
