Mukono Municipal lawmaker Hon. Betty Nambooze has finally broken silence on notorious machete welding goons that attacked her In bedroom during the wee hours.
Speaking while appearing on NBS TV Barometer talkshow, Nambooze described the entire incident as a planned move to put her out of action.
She said it was only God redeemed from the gates of grave as the merciless goon demanded her to say the last prayer before her husband grabbed the goon that had gone as far as the bedroom.
“Impunity will destroy this nation. Zebra was killed. The President came out to say giving bail to suspects of capital offenses is provoking them. I understood it as him saying they will kill the suspects.” Nambooze likened her situation.
She added that this country is full of injustice. This is the root cause of mob justice.
“This country is full of displaced anger. The rich are only 1%. The rest are poor because they have been robbed, and they are angry.” She said.
“When you hear the NRM saying they want to develop an area, just know they want to steal.” – Betty Nambooze noted.
Nambooze also narrated another incident that narrowly took her life, “On 30th September 2021, as I was going to extend my sympathies to the family of a man who was murdered, I was attacked, my car was vandalized, hit by a hammer.
About 5:30 am today, I heard a voice of a man in my bedroom. He was putting on black, taller than ordinary. He told me to say my last prayers, and then he faced the wall.
I raised an alarm, and my husband fought with him. My son also joined the fight. – Betty Nambooze on what transpired at her home
I don’t know what the man was up to. Maybe he had really come to kill me or to scare me or warn me. We suspect they were three.
It is sad that people have started being attacked in their homes. I am sad for my people of Mukono.
