Kasekende. Up to 60 bodies have so far been recovered following the mudslides that hit Bududa district last week on Thursday. The tragedy destroyed villages in the sub-counties of Buwali, Bukalasi, Nalwanga and Bubiita. According to Wilson Watira, the Bududa district chairperson also spokesperson disaster committee, 60 bodies have been recovered over the past one week. Heavy rains rolled big boulders through the villages of Suume, Nyekhe, Malila, Lwanda and Nanyinza killing and sweeping away an unspecified number of people. The Uganda Police Force has finally Okayed Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga Concert. According to the Namboole stadium Management a new date for Bobi Wine’s previously cancelled popular recital and this will take place on November 9, 2018. The pop start was slated to hold the concert on October 20, but failed to get a police clearance letter, a provision required by the management of Namboole. Uganda Red Cross with support from the Belgian Red Cross have been among the first to take relief aid to the families affected in the Thursday landslides in Suume Parish, Bukalasi Sub County-Bududa district. Following last week’s heavy down pours in the area, River Suume burst its banks forcing large volumes of water, and rolling boulders down the slopes. These destroyed and washed over 139 households and 43 lives have been lost. The distribution happened on Sunday during prayers held for the victims at Bukalasi playground in Bududda. The Hon. Following the letter issued on 16th October, Police says they won’t allow any unauthorized person to set his/her foot at the Mandela International Stadium.
