The Rwandan media has denounced a new law criminalizing the publication of satire and political cartoons of politicians. The law that came into force on Thursday has generated a lot of controversy in the country’s press. The new law calls for a two-year prison sentence and a fine of more than a thousand dollars for any offender under the Act. 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured in after a hand grenade exploded in a nightclub packed with revellers in South Sudan. According to police commissioner James Monday Enoka, It is alleged that over 500 people were dancing at a venue in the western city of Yambio on Friday when an attacker threw the missile into the crowd. “We found four people dead on (the) spot”, he said. Medical officers from Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have joined their counterparts from other government health facilities to offer free health services to Ugandans at the 2018 taxpayers’ appreciation week.
