The Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee has presented its report to Parliament on the Constitution amendment Bill, for Second Reading. The Constitution (Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2017, which was presented on Monday, 18th December 2017, seeks to amend Article 102(b) in order to repeal the upper age limit of a presidential aspirant, which is currently at 75 years. The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has blocked attempts by legislators to probe Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Kutesa, over links to a bribery case before a US Court.
